For nearly 15 years, Charlie’s Kids Foundation has worked to prevent sleep-related infant deaths by providing clear, accessible safe-sleep education to families and healthcare providers across the country. Since 2013, more than six million copies of our board book, Sleep Baby Safe and Snug, have been distributed through hospitals, state health departments, and national literacy partners.

Recently, a separate safe-sleep board book authored by the original writer was published and introduced into the marketplace. We have received reports that this book has been described in ways that suggest it is an updated version of Sleep Baby Safe and Snug. The title, content and illustrations closely resemble our book in terms of structure and presentation. We want to provide clarity.

Charlie’s Kids owns the copyrighted text and compiled work of Sleep Baby Safe and Snug. Protecting the integrity of our educational materials ensures that families and healthcare providers clearly understand the organization standing behind the resources they distribute. In public health education, clarity of authorship and source matters.
